Has anyone used David Michael's "Doubt is Their Product" in research methods or critical thinking courses? Portions of the book is available on books.google.com. It seems to provide a good overview of how the tobacco companies developed an effective strategy for dealing with scientific evidence (i.e., raising doubts about the validity of scientific results, etc.) and appears to be relevant to current problems, such as the climate change debate.
