Folks--

If you teach introductory statistics, you may have seen two recent
articles in Teaching of Psychology that describe software that I've
created to help teach introductory statistics. One of these
articles (Britt et al, 2002) reviews (very favorably, I'm happy to
report!) ESTAT, software for exploring the relationship between data and
statistics using eyeball-estimation techniques. The other (Hurlburt,
2001) describes "lectlets," computer-based interactive audiovisual
statistics lectures.

Journal reports can't easily convey how computer software actually works,
so if you teach introductory statistics and you'd like to see the actual
software described in these articles, e-mail me your snail-mail address
off list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and I'll mail you a CD that contains both ESTAT
and a complete set of lectlets.

Britt, M.A., Sellinger, J., & Stillerman, C.S (2002). A review of ESTAT:
An innovative program for teaching statistics. Teaching of Psychology,
29, 73-75.

Hurlburt, R. T. (2001). "Lectlets" deliver content at a distance:
Introductory statistics as a case study. Teaching of Psychology, 28,
15-20.

The CDs are supplied courtesy of Wadsworth, publishers of my statistics
textbooks.
