Hello Tipsters,
Our department is about to start working on a plan to mentor new
adjunct faculty and provide a system for communication between adjuncts and
full-time faculty. Our goal is to figure out how we can instruct and assist
adjuncts about departmental expectations, college resources and policies,
and things like bookstore/registrar forms and deadlines. Currently we have
no provisions for release time or monetary compensation for mentors. I
would appreciate any ideas you can share with me about how your departments
go about accomplishing our goal.
