TIPSters,
I'm looking for a short video clip (1 min or less, ideally) that depicts
an incidence of what appears to be a random violent act. The ideal sort
of clip I'm thinking of is where two or more people are engaged in
something relatively mundane (e.g., talking around the water cooler at
work), then someone lashes out unexpectedly and, say, punches someone in
the nose. A clip of real behavior would be ideal (as opposed to cinema).
The idea here would be to present this clip early in my intro class as a
way of promoting discussion about a variety of ways in which behavior is
interpreted, e.g., as a way of introducing the fundamental attribution
error, biological determinants of behavior, etc.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
