Director of Undergraduate Advising: A full-time, renewable, non-tenure track position as Director of Undergraduate Advising for the Department. Responsibilities of the position, set to begin in August 2004, will include conducting individual and group advising sessions with declared psychology majors, training undergraduate and graduate students who staff the Departmental Advising Center, meeting with freshman and transfer students for orientation sessions, organizing departmental materials for the University's Open House sessions, and teaching multiple sections of the Careers in Psychology course. A master's degree is required, preferably in Psychology, Counseling, or Student Development. Salary is commensurate with experience. Currently, the Department has 28 full-time faculty members, approximately 600 undergraduate majors, and 80 full-time graduate students in five Master of Arts degree programs. Applications should include a vita, statement of philosophy of undergraduate advising, including a model of how advising should be conducted, and three letters of recommendation.
