Actually, Allen, she's a psychologist. She has a master's in psychology
from Harvard, and a doctorate (though her biography doesn't indicate whether
that too is in psychology) from Boston University.

So am I going to have to read and reprint the Loftus chapter to defend her
too? (Ha ha.) Too many research papers to correct. I'll let her sink or
swim on this one.

Except for one little point I want to reiterate: She has never written like
an academician. She writes for the layperson, inserting her own experience
with severe mental illness, and her readers have come to expect that. I've
still seen almost nothing about the book on this side of the Atlantic,
except for the Harlow excerpt in the Boston Globe on Sunday.
