I think I'd be very cautious about making a blanket "no faculty may date any
registered student" statements, expecially if you are the only institute of
higher learning in your area. My wife (an RN) recently decided to pursue
certification as a school nurse. The only program for that in our area is,
of course, at the school where I teach. We'll never be in a position where
she'll have to take a course from me and I'll never have to judge her work
for the college. A blanket no fraternization policy would have unreasonably
complicated our lives.
