Yes, that is exactly why I used it as an example of illusory correlation and
avoided using the graph itself!
My students have trouble enough! I know someone made the point that the graph
shows the decrease in pirates, but, of course, that means the zero
point is the
most distant point to the right--ARRRRgghh--as far as teaching beginning
students!
