Hi

Actually our former Dept of Political Science changed to Dept of
Politics a few years ago. Perhaps a reflection of disaffection with
science among some social "sciences"?

More seriously, I wonder if Psychological Sciences might be a good
choice, analogous to Biological Sciences. Might help to prevent
thinking of scientific psychology as equivalent to neuroscience or some
such interpretation.

My first reaction was, "Isn't that redundant?" But, nobody has a
problem with "Biological Sciences" or "Political Science" or "Physical
Sciences."

We are thinking of changing our department name to "Psychological
Science" from
"Psychology". So far arguments have been presented on both sides.

I was wondering if any tipsters know of any departments that are named
Department of Psychological Science. We have located three that changed
to that
and one that changed from it and back to psychology.

I'm also willing to read strong opinion on either side of the coin.
