If any of you feel you have the stomach for sheer idiocy of the "There's-so-much-wrong-with-this-I-don't-know-where-to-start" variety, I invite you to check out a website offered by a student in one of my online courses.  I insist they must have facts to back up anything they post.  (Yes, I already gave them the lecture about everything on the web isn't fact, but she must have overlooked that lecture.)  I'm afraid I was a little extreme in my response (though as I recall, I did manage to avoid replying in all capital letters).  What troubles me is that this is the kind of thing many of our students believe to be true.

Here's the site.  You might want to pop a Valium or two before you check it out:

Subject: Naomi Wolf

(snip)

How about Naomi Wolf for Naomi Wolf? I'm rather embarrrassed that, some 15 years ago, I actually admired that publicity hound. Now I think Madonna has more intellectual credibility--at least she's more upfront about the fact that it's all about her.

To the list of people whom Naomi Wolf has already made a laughingstock of by association--feminists, mothers, sexual-harassment victims, political consultants--one can now add both Christians and Jews.
