Thanks Annette for the question, and Marie for the reply! It's what TIPS
should be about. I was just thinking about possible activities to use in my
labs and also in a new "Scientific Foundations" course I am doing.
I am also interested in hearing ideas about teaching activities for basic
ethical conduct in class, and professionalism for psych students. Not just
issues about cheating, but also prep for professional conduct in general. Most
of our students will end up not in psych or research fields (tho I can wish),
but in various professional roles--business, education, counseling, social
work, health, etc. I feel there are issues of proper and improper
relationships, integrity, data-sharing, legality, etc. that our students need
to consider. This does dovetail with some of the research-related issues,
especially when we explore so-called evidence-based clinical practice and
examine what is being given away as psychology these days. Sooo, do other
tipsters have ideas or activities on professional ethics that might be suitable
for an undergrad class? Thanks, Gary
