I met Fred Keller in his later years when he was serving a two-year stint at Western Michigan University, which for those not aware has a psychology graduate program focused on applied behavioral analysis. He actually was a reference for me when I was applying for my position here at Oakton and one major reasons I was even considered as I had no teaching experienced with simply a MA in experimental psychology. One of the faculty members who taught here said, "We can NOT NOT interview an applicant who has a reference from the great Fred Keller." The interview sealed the deal but I owe getting my foot 'in the door to Fred.' He was gracious and friendly and even joined us lowly graduate students for a few of our Friday afternoon social gatherings. And naturally, the class I took from him was all about the personalized mastery approach to the teaching of psychology. BTW, what is the age difference between Keller and Skinner. And thanks for the information!
