Jean, I find this material interesting also, but am leary of pop psych applications presented in the media. I was merely wondering---since some of us are concerned about such matters, whether the parenting ideas are based on some sound psychological evidence perhaps even linked to actual developmental theory or research, or are merely presented because they fit the ideological comfort zone of the instructors (myself included). I try to link such programs and illustrations with the relevant psych research whenever possible in my classes, and am happy to see you do the same. Gary
