In most lifespan textbooks, the "epigenetic principal" is attributed to Gottlieb and is describe as a model he articulated where genes and environments constantly interact to create development. This idea maps very well onto Piaget's ideas regarding genetic epistomology as well as new work in both behavioral genetics and molecular genetics. I don't see them all as very different, even if they use slightly different terminology or emphases. -- Tasha R.
