TIPSters-- I know that child-directed speech is seen in all cultures. Do any of you know any evidence that people, when they become parents, tend to mimic the kind of motherese they were exposed to--e.g., singing if their mothers sang a lot, using baby talk v. adult vocabulary or vice-versa?
