For those of you who think that the internet is making us stupid/illiterate/crazy/etc., you may be interested to know that they had similar concerns about movies in the 1890s (only they thought it caused the mysterious but pervasive ailment, neurasthenia). http://www.mindhacks.com/blog/2008/07/is_the_cinematograph.html Of course, when they finally convinced themselves that neurasthenia had nothing to do with nerves, that didn't stop them for a minute. They simply renamed the condition psychasthenia.
