Well, the students think it is and there was a very nice article in the APS observer recently about realistic course previews (you can search taht in the observer online website and probably find the article). So it may be a good thing to talk about. PLUS there is no doubt in the conceptual change literature that having misconceptions on which to build new knowledge is very challenging.
