One source (McConnell 1984) states that the first Psy.D. program was established at the Institute of Psychology at the University of Montreal in the late 1940s but does not indicate whether there were any graduates (a search of Disseration Abstracts shows no Psy.D.s before 1984). If there was a disseration, it might be in the U of Montreal's library. McGill started a similar program in the early 1950s but apprently it was dissolved after a few years. I guess you might have to be a little more specific, such as first Psy.D. prior to the Vail conference or the first Psy.D. after the Vail conference. Ref: McConnell, S.C. (1984).
