Numbers Deceive You* (Simon and Schuster, 2002):

This is ideal for students (and teachers) as it deals with a variety of
topics in highly readable form, with everyday examples showing how even the
experts are unable to handle quite simple statistical analyses (e.g., in
relation to screening for diseases), and how to make sense of statistical
data.
