As I continue to maintain the status as the only divergent thinker on Tips,it would seem to me that suggestions proposed on how the ordinary individual can cope or prepare to cope with the recession and current economic crisis fit conceptually nicely with Maslow's pyramid of need and growth fulfillments. The typical advice given are: first bein saving that one has enough to take care of those physiological needs: food, shelter, amd meeting mortgage and other payments. Then save enough to establish a sense of security for about six months. One can also explore potential growth in other occupational talents and seek to diversify to boost self-esteem .And it has been suggested that one can lower taxes by being in love and belonging and getting married. Btw,would Seligman's "learned helplessness" be of relevance in those economic times? Send me something. Michael Sylvester,PhD Daytona Beach,Florida
