This is always my favorite day of the year. I count down the dwindling daylight 
hours until this date and then rejoice at the increasing daylight :) I don't 
believe 
I suffer from SAD but the lack of daylight does make me sad--in the usual 
sense of the word. I wonder how prevalent this mild version of missing the 
daylight might be among most people.

On my to do list before I die is to spend some time in June in Alaska just 
once, 
to experience nearly 24 hour/day daylight :)

Thus, to all tipsters I wish you a happy solstice.
