Actually, it is of some use to read Crowley's police report.  The
Boston Globe originally had it posted on its website around July 20
but took it down shortly thereafter.  A new version (redacted and
revised) has been posted to the Boston Globe but Crowley's report is
no longer part of it. See:

Some searching on the internet has turned up Crowley's report on a

Where does the truth lie?  I don't know but I hope that someone records
the conversation Crowley, Gates, and President Obama have over their beer(s).
It might also be a good idea to watch Akira Kurosawa's "Rashomon" and/or
show it in class if one is going to discuss the Gates-Crowley incident (come to
think about it, maybe watching "The Ox-Bow Incident" might also be in order;
