every breath you take.......I'll be watching you". Nowadays everyone seems to have access to some kind of audio-video gizmo-cameras in cell phones.iphones, and so on.What one believes is done or said in a confidential way can be be made public through you tube, blogs, and the social networks within minutes. And students carry all those devices with them to the classroom. I am just curious as to what impact this "medium as the message" modern paradigm has had or has on tipsters' vigilance on how they present themselves in and out of the academic environment. Are tipsters more careful now in terms of what and how they say, interact, and behave.Do you foresee an "in vivo" evaluation process where the chairperson can tune in to classes by watching video monitors from his/her office?(There might not be a need for written opinionated student evaluations).Video monitors could also give the administration an idea of attendance patterns.A class that is about 50% full most of the time should possibly be on the chopping block or the prof fired. Should profs on away coferences should be fixed with a GPS devices to gain info of necessary or unnecessary whereabouts ? And what about secret and other non-academic related activities and fun things.A prof who gave someone the finger was caught on tape and was later reprimanded. He was not aware that it was caught on a cell phone camera. On the other hand it can also be asserted that some degree of media savvy can enhance teaching and behavior skills. Ironically the Police is all around."Every move you make, every breath you take..."
