Is classical conditioning the same as Pavlovian conditioning? Was classical conditioning once referred to as conditioning "by stimulus substitution" ? Are operant, instrumental, and Skinnerian the same? Was there ever Thorndikian conditioning? Is there such a thing as respondent conditioning and does respondent conditioning a term for both classical and operant conditioning? In Mowrer's two-factor theory of learning,is it classical for acquisition and operant or instrumental for escape?
