University of Pennsylvania researchers have released results of a study that
showed that women are not too happy.I only wished that they could qualify this
by stating that it is white women in the U.S that are not happy. So the
expression that "you have come a long way baby" should .be followed by "but you
are not too happy".as commented by a reporter.
They did not explain why those white women were not happy, but as the
cross-cultural dude and gender expert on Tips, let me lay out a framework
for some possible though not exhaustive explanations:
1) it could be differences may be internalized as deficiencies
2) in an individualistic oriented society, the collective aspect of feminimity
has been suppressed. It used to be that "let's" was an important aspect
of the lexicon. The motivation "let's do lunch" is being challenged by more
business type of orientation."Let's" represented a common bond that is rapidly
disappearing.
3) we can bet that it has to do with the nature of modern day relationships
4) Because of the nature of this eurocentric capitalistic society,it could be
that she is under so much stress that, that like the old adage "a woman's work
is never complete"
5) where is the fun for women
6) I believe how we treat women tells us about the nature of our spirituality.
As a matter of fact students have asked me what is my religion.I usually point
out
to a female student and say "there she is."Now we have to pray together".
