Stephen, _any_ circumstances.  How about very minor changes in eye color hue
(for those with light-colored eyes) under different conditions of illumination?
 Could it be possible to have situations where different levels of
illumination, which will affect the size of the pupil, might create some sort
of contrast effect between pupil and iris resulting in minor changes in the
iris' hue?  What I had in mind was the old center surround demonstrations (Gelb
effect?) of Hans Wallach.
