You might also want to read Thomas Pynchon's polymath book Gravity's Rainbow, which offers a surreal (to put it mildly) entirely fictitious, but hilarious account of what happened to Little Albert as an adult during WWII. It's good stuff and it will take your mind off of the seriousness.
