The Adam's Apple

 One of my students was telling me how he tried to pick up someone
parading as a female prostitute. To his surprise,the prostitute was really
a transvestite.He said he knew that because after the person got into the
ca,he observed the Adam's apple .
My question : to what extent is the Adam's apple a distinctive biological
marker for sexual identification?
