Assistant Professor of Psychology
The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ) invites applications for
a tenure-stream, full-time position at the Assistant Professor level in
the Department of Psychology. UPJ is a comprehensive four-year
undergraduate campus of the University of Pittsburgh System, located 70
miles east of Pittsburgh on a beautiful 650-acre site in the Laurel
Highlands of Pennsylvania. The college community includes about 3,000
undergraduate students and 150 full-time faculty distributed through
five academic divisions. These divisions include Education, Engineering
Technology, Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. Each
division offers four-year undergraduate bachelor degree programs. The
six member Department of Psychology is a unit within the Division of
Natural Sciences.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include a 12-hour teaching load per term and an active
research program including supervision of undergraduates, along with
departmental, divisional, and college-wide service activities. Teaching
duties will include Child Development, Aging, courses in one's specialty
area, and may include courses such as Introductory Psychology.
Qualifications include:
· Earned doctorate in Psychology or appropriately related area with a
specialty in aging
· Teaching experience
· Experience conducting research
Starting Date: Late August 2000
