The 1985 2nd revised edition of the Dictionary of Psychology by J. P.
Chaplin does not list self-esteem.

The developmental text I use (Shaffer, 5th ed., 1999) defines self-esteem as
"one's evaluation of one's worth as a person based on an assessment of the
qualities that make up the self concept."
