from the latest issue of Avenue (magazine for University of Glasgow
graduates and friends):

Principal's Address
"The University had reacted vigorously against a proposal of the
Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education that the MA degree
should be renamed a bachelor's degree. The award of the distinctive
Scottish MA had impeccable tradition and authority and was recognized
around the world. The University would continue to use the MA title
for its arts-based undergraduate degrees."
