Psychology: Generalist. Pending budgetary approval, the Department of Psychology at
Loras College seeks a candidate to fill a full-time tenure track position in
psychology at the assistant professor level beginning August 15, 2001. The successful
candidate will contribute to the following, in order of priority: (1) directing
student-centered research, preferably applied research; (2) teaching courses in
several of the following content areas: development, motivation, introductory,
history, personality; (3) contributing to an interdisciplinary undergraduate general
education curriculum and the psychology department's masters program; and (4) teaching
and developing courses in the candidate's areas of expertise. The ideal candidate will
have a Ph.D. in psychology and will provide recent evidence of success in directing
undergraduate research and in college teaching. Candidates will be expected to support
Loras College's mission statement. Loras College is a four-year Catholic coeducational
liberal arts institution. Its 60 acre campus is located on one of Dubuque's highest
