David Thomas Oklahoma State University OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY is inviting applications for four anticipated full-time tenure track positions beginning August, 2001. All candidates must have completed a Ph.D. from a recognized department of psychology; candidates for clinical positions must have received their training from an APA-accredited clinical program and have completed an APA-approved Clinical Psychology Internship. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in and dedication to scholarly activity, and to interact well with colleagues and students. Candidates must also demonstrate the capacity to maintain a high quality research program leading to scholarly productivity in the form of professional publication, presentations, and grantsmanship; to supervise undergraduate and graduate student research; and to have experience or potential in instruction. Competitive salary and start-up funds are available. Normal teaching load is two courses per semester. One position in Quantitative Psychology at Assistant or Associate level. Requirements of the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in data analysis and experimental design, and consulting with students and faculty on design and statistical issues. Applicants should have a strong background in mathematics and experience in teaching quantitative courses. We also expect the candidate to have a second area of expertise, preferably in structural equation modeling, developmental, and/or cognitive. Three positions in Clinical Psychology ? two at Assistant Professor and one at Assistant or Associate level. Research specialty for positions is open, but would prefer one of the following areas: Child Clinical, Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine, or Adult Psychopathology. Candidates will be expected to provide clinical supervision for students in our departmental clinic, to serve as a research mentor for undergraduate and graduate students, and to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in one or more of the following areas: introductory psychology, abnormal psychology, and personality (undergraduate level), and psychopathology, behavior therapy, child diagnostic methods (graduate level) and personality assessment (graduate level). The department has 18 faculty members and offers Ph.D.s in both experimental and clinical psychology. The Clinical Program, APA-accredited since 1971, uses the scientist-practitioner model in training, with subspecialties available in Clinical Child, Behavioral Medicine/Health Psychology, and General Clinical. The department offers training to a diversified graduate student body; ethnic minority students constitute 30% of total graduate enrollment.
