Tipsters, I teach a 400-level directed studies course. It is 3 semester hours, and most of the time, it is a vehicle for an undergraduate to complete an independent research project. Sometimes, I have students who are not interested in doing independent research, but would rather explore some topic in-depth, much like a literature review.
