I agree entirely with this position.  However, given the current employment
situation in our discipline, I wonder if it is wise to teach research methods
and related courses using solely a basic science platform.  For example,
instead of using traditional experiments such as simple reaction time, mental
rotation, etc., should we be making an effort to use more examples of applied
research?
