Here is a better alternative hypothesis:

1. Why is the sky blue?  

God is a Tarheel fan.

2. When did Tarheel basketball begin to falter?

When Dean Smith retired.

3. Why has violence invaded both schools and churches?

God is too busy helping rebuild the UNC basketball program.

4. So who is at fault?

Blame it all on Dean Smith.


And I list these so-called coincidences....

 a. Dean Smith was a religion major.

 b. The mascot of the closest and hated rival team is a Blue 
Devil.
