Rather, Skinner was a firm believer in serendipity.
The actual story (as related by BFS in the BofO) was that it was Friday, he was 
running out of food reinforcer pellets (which he hand made with a pharmacist's 
pill roller) and decided to see if he could stretch out his pellet supply by 
skipping some of the pellet deliveries.
Skinner was more positive than Murphy.
