Good eye Mike, (pun intended) but I have no clue about the Ekman stuff; I think
that her face is a bit asymmetrical and she seems to have a droopy eyelid on
one side, which I can relate to.

My vote is that she has a migraine. And who wouldn't in her situation?

Not my cup of tea ;)

The morning radio show I listen to out of LA has had more about the drunken
brother who is organizing the big party tonight. LOL.

Subject: [tips] What's Up With Kate's Face?

Okay, so I decided to watch the wedding between Will and Kate this
morning. I noticed that though Kate did a good job smiling when she
stopped smiling, her face was asymmetric with the right side of her mouth
slightly open. It looks a little like she's talking out of the side of her
mouth,
1930's movie gangster style. This was particularly clear when Kate and
Will were sitting in the horse drawn carriage (this was on the live video
feed on CNN). Here's a video clip from the CNN website that shows
a bit of what I'm referring to -- look at Kate circa 1 minute 16 seconds
into the video:
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2011/04/29/vo.royal.couple.depart.itn?hpt=C2

It looks a little like a smirk but it could just be that the lower part of her
face is asymmetrical. Look at photo #5 which has a full face shot. You
can save the image and then open it up in an image viewer program to
make her face larger. Zooming in shows the asymmetry; see:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/photos-of-the-newly-married-royal-couple/article2002025/

Photo #6 also shows a bit of the asymmetry but because it is a 3/4 facial
shot it is weaker evidence of the asymmetry.

Is anyone familiar with Paul Ekman facial expression categorization system?
What muscles is Kate using in Photo #5?
