Hi Patricia, I do not teach online using Blackboard but I do frequently use our college's Web-based advising system called Self-Service. My smartphone is an LG Ally through Verizon, with the data package that allows for Internet access. I am able to handle phone calls, texting, and Internet browsing very well. The only drawback is that I can't open .doc or .xls attachments to email (or maybe I just haven't figured it out). But I have had no trouble accessing student records or entering data in Self-Service.
