Appalachian State University
The Department of Psychology at Appalachian State University invites
applications for a 1 to 3 year appointment at the rank of Professor
beginning August 2012. The successful applicant is expected to have the
appropriate terminal degree in Psychology or an allied field.
Responsibilities include contributing to the undergraduate and graduate
curriculum, developing a colloquium series featuring prominent scholars,
teaching one course each semester related to his or her field of
expertise, and collaborating with faculty in scholarly activities that
support the mission of Appalachian State’s Department of Psychology.
Appalachian State University is a member institution of the
seventeen-campus University of North Carolina. Located in Boone, North
Carolina, the university has approximately 17,500 students, primarily in
bachelors and masters programs in both liberal arts and applied fields.
Appalachian has both a traditional residential campus and a variety of

Review of nominations will begin immediately. Qualified nominees will
be invited to submit a full application, consisting of a curriculum
vitae, statement of teaching and research interests, photocopy of
graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. Review of
completed applications and decisions to invite candidates will begin on
January 17, 2012.
