[tips] Cognitive dissonance and Papal infallibility

According to Catholic doctrine,the Pope is infallible when he speaks "ex 
cathredra",so
how does he cope with the dissonance  created by his resignation?Is there a 
Festinger
wannabe in Tipsville?
