His name is John Green (no relation). He does a couple of series on history (one American, one "world") on YouTube called "Crash Course" which are also entertaining, informative, and a little cheeky. His brother does a version on biology and, I think, chemistry too.
I wouldn't be surprised if some media organization hired him to do short, entertaining backgrounders to various issues as the US election season heats up. Chris .......
