The issue of IQ seems to apply only where it is part of a selection
criteria. So even though it can be predictably reliable it may not be
valid as an intelligence criteria. To me intelligence is the ability to adapt
to existing environments.Academia is an existing that demands
subjects specific skills.Intervening variables such as time
constraints, motivation, persistence, and the ability to self-correct may be
important
variables. I suspect that differential IQ rates may be more a function of brain
activity. After all,a slow learner still learns.
But intelligence is not confined to paper-pencil or clicking tasks. I consider
the enumeration of intelligence to IQ and the Spearman g
as Reductionistic Eurocentric Cognitive Imperialism.Interestingly though, the
Chinese were the first to locate the area of the black box
of Malaysian flight 370 with a cheap hand held device. We should keep in mind
that it is not how smart you are but how are you smart.
