Yes, when I click my own link I hit the paywall. But when I put the phrase "The life of Ivan Pavlov" in Google, the first link takes me to the full WSJ article. Don't know why. I tried to access the WSJ article while in NYU's library using Scott's original link and couldn't get directly pass the paywall. Eventually, I figured a way to access the article and read it but when I tried to print it into a PDF, my browser froze. Ultimately, I had to go to Proquest to get a copy of the article in PDF form. Interestingly, the review by Talis does not mention the 2002 book of Todes "Pavlov's Physiology Factory" so it is unclear what is actually new in this book. Here is a link to Todes' 2002 "Pavlov's Physiology Factory" on books.google.com: http://books.google.com/books?id=4FpobBC2V1oC&printsec=frontcover&dq=%22daniel+todes%22&hl=en&sa=X&ei=bqxnVMzDEc6gyATws4KQCQ&ved=0CGwQ6AEwCw#v=onepage&q&f=false And here's a link to Todes' 2000 "Ivan Pavlov: Exploring the Animal Machine": http://books.google.com/books?id=MHA8ZYnEc5wC&printsec=frontcover&dq=%22daniel+todes%22&hl=en&sa=X&ei=bqxnVMzDEc6gyATws4KQCQ&ved=0CDkQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=%22daniel%20todes%22&f=false And here's a link to Todes' 1997 article in the "American Psychologist" on you-know-who: http://psycnet.apa.org/journals/amp/52/9/947/ And here's a link to Todes' dissertation at the U of Penn, again on his favorite subject: http://repository.upenn.edu/dissertations/AAI8117864/ I think the real question for a Pavlov scholar is what new things has Todes found or concluded across these different sources. -Mike Palij New York University m...@nyu.edu P.S.
