So, the zombie apocalypse occurs, what are you going to
do? Where are you going to go? The answer to that last
question appears to have been answered, with computer
simulations and everything and to be presented at the
American Physical Society (y'know, the "other" APS).
For popular accounts of where to go, see CNET:
http://www.cnet.com/news/science-finds-the-best-place-to-hide-from-zombies/#ftag=YHF65cbda0
and/or Eureka Alerts:

Or the abstract from the presentation that will be made
this Thursday at the APS meeting (9:24a-9:36a):

Then again, if you've got the coin, just build your own
zombie resistant abode; see:
http://www.cnet.com/news/zombie-proof-log-cabin-has-10-year-anti-zombie-guarantee/

NOTE: The is a 10 year anti-zombie guarantee. However,
quoting from the article:
"Please note -- we require medical evidence of the presence
of a real zombie should you wish to claim under the 10 year
anti zombie guarantee,"

Make sure you still have a s#!tload of ammunition with you.
And practice head shots.
