a perfectly reasonable question, wombat. once you re-program the skip, the button will regularly skip ahead 30 seconds. it will no longer skip to the end of the recorded program. (however, if you shift into fast forward mode, the right skip button will still "skip to the tick" - i.e., skip ahead to the next 15 minute marker. so you can still get to the end a program relatively easily.)
sometimes tivo does system updates which knock out the re-programming....in my experience this happens maybe once a month or so. also, if you unplug the tivo, you will have to re-program this hack. please don't let the big media companies know about the 30-second skip - they would be very unhappy. ;-) -- michael ------------------------ Yahoo!
