I remember from the "good old days" something about digital phone systems
"frying" analog modems.

How is the Internet connection messed up?  Because if there is *any*
way to use that, you really want to.  It gives you music & photos,
online scheduling, home media engine, etc.  All the TiVo needs is a
standard IP connection.

That sounds like it might be a digital phone system, which usually
don't play nicely with modems.

There is a way to make it work - you get the full phone number for the
local pop and enter the prefix, the number, and the suffix - all as
the dialing prefix on the TiVo. Then it will dial everything, and then
dial the number again, which is usually OK.

However, again, if that's a digital phone system there are good
chances it will not work anyway.
