Hello All, When the tech couldn't fix it with the new cards, he said he had to leave for another app't and someone else was coming with more cc's. In the meantime, he stepped outside a moment and must have called backup because soon another tech was at the door. They both were calling into Home base and trying to figure it out together when I slipped into another room and discreetly called TiVo and got one of their tech's online. After much ado with the three heads together, it turns out that the SLOT IN THE BACK OF THE TIVO IS DEFECTIVE! It wasn't the fault of the CC's after all. I really think those Charter guys felt vindicated by their looks! They then went into the back room and had to get the S2 back online as it got knocked out in the process .
So I've had to order an exchange S3 Unit and then will need to get Charter back again to install the new Card, which TiVo says is an 'M' card. I think they pair it with an S Card as the second card. It's been a hassle since Nov. 11th with nine tech's out here, and if I hadn't called TiVo II would still be waiting for another tech visit trying more cards, which we know now would not ever have worked out. Hopefully this is the problem solved. Hope no one else needs to know all this for future reference, but if so, I hope my experience may give some insight on cable card problems.
