Coincidences do happen.

Are you running the latest TiVo Desktop - 2.6.1?

I suppose it could be an issue if you're still using an older desktop
which might not work well with the new TiVo code. I've never had a
problem with 2.6 or 2.6.1 and transfers with 9.3.

The TiVo Desktop log files should show any connection attempts by the
TiVo. They're not all that user-friendly, but they're generally
understandable. The logs may shed some light on what is going on.

I've seen it many times over the years - get enough users and it isn't
statistically uncommon.

Look at it the other way - with hundreds of thousands of people
getting 9.3, if this were a systemic bug the number of people
reporting problems should be a lot higher than two.

I'd still expect it to be hitting a lot more people if that were the
case.

If you're technical enough to try it, you could install Ethereal on
the PC and watch the network traffic to see if the TiVo is making the
connection and what is being exchanged if it does.
