Ok, it appears that when the IR-blaster setup tests worked perfectly
the first time, it was a freak occurance. Subsequent attempts to run
through the tests failed either completely or with only single digits
occasionally being sent to the cable box. I suspect that the IR
blaster is nearly dead. The good news is that I was only using "half"
of the IR-blaster with the other emitter hanging loose and when I
positioned it in front of the cable box, I could change channels
again. So apparently my IR-blaster is only half-dead. I guess I'd
better replace it in any case. Are there any even cheaper options than
the 6.99 replacement available on the TiVo site?
